VISPA is the Vision Impaired Service Providers Alliance. We want to collaborate and cooperate, wherever possible and appropriate, in the provision of more and better services to people with vision impairments.
To be a cohesive voice advocating for increased understanding and awareness of needs and services for people who are blind or vision impaired.
VISPA is an informal alliance between the four main sight-loss agencies working in Ireland, led by the Chief Executives of each organisation, and an administrator to carry out and support its objectives and actions. The Chief Executives report to their respective boards on updates and actions.
There are a number of workgroups set up on different topics – Training & Standards, Communications, Advocacy – involving members of staff/management from each organisation to drive through particular actions and initiatives. A separate working group is also involved in organising and managing the Vision 2020 Low Vision Conference to be held in Dublin in July 2020.
