Our Vision:

For people who are blind and vision-impaired to have the same opportunities, rights and choices as others to fully participate in society.

Our Mission:

To enable people who are blind and vision impaired to overcome the barriers that impede their independence and participation in society.
NCBI Working for People with Sight Loss, Ireland’s national sight loss agency, is a non-for-profit charitable organisation working within the community to assist people of all ages who are experiencing difficulties with their sight. NCBI provides supports to over 7,000 people and their families every year.
NCBI offers a wide range of community based services to help people to adapt to sight loss and maintain their independence. NCBI services are delivered by specialised staff as a part of our Lifecycle teams, and all services are tailored to the individual.

Our Lifecycle Teams are divided into:

  1. NCBI Children and Young People’s Team (Age 0 – 18)
  2. Working Age Team (19 – 65)
  3. Positive Ageing Teams (66+).
NCBI’s core values of inclusivity, choice, openness and accountability, and the pursuit of excellence inform all of our actions to ensure that we achieve the highest standards in everything we do. NCBI aims to be a responsive organisation in the design and delivery of our services by supporting all service users through effective and indivdualised service delivery.
