Independent Living Skills

Programmes that teach people with sight-loss and other disabilities the basic skills for independent living where possible and practicable.

Training in Independent Living Skills (ILS) covering all aspects of home and personal care management such as cooking, communication, cleaning, and organisational skills.
NCBI’s Working Age Team and National Training Centre (age 18 – 65) and Older Adult’s Team (age 66+) provide ILS Workshops and individualised training to any individuals at any intensity levels determined by the needs of the individual. Training is available in both an individual or group environment.
